Hello lovelies. Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I'm trying to stay busy and keep up on my projects around the house, making time fly by faster. Although the heat and constantly being on my feet isn't doing me any favors. Yesterday I shared my favorite (very useful) products for surviving the third trimester (check them out here). But by far the most important thing is to keep hydrated especially during summer. Hope all you pregnant ladies are doing well and all the none pregnant ladies, say a prayer for us.

Hello there! How was your weekend? Hopefully you enjoyed some relaxation and celebrated dads. We had a busy few days and I'm hoping to spend  Monday relaxing (yeah right!?). With baby girl coming soon and us not having anything ready (except a few swaddle blankets), there is a lot to do. I'm not trying to rush the time and hoping she doesn't come too early (or late for that matter). So between cleaning out the garage, putting together furniture for the kids' room and making some frozen meals, I have the next month planned out. It's going to be one busy summer, that's for sure!

So it's fall, like officially! And the only thing that will signify its coming is plaid everything. I love the come back of plaid in fashion and welcome it in my closet this fall. From blazers to dresses and scarves, I just can't stay away from it. Although it can look a little ancient, with addition of correct accessories, it looks chic. Hope you are enjoying this gorgeous time of the year and exploring some unbeaten path with your loved ones.
Thanks for stopping by!

...And a Happy New Year

dress: Tahari, boots: Ann Taylor, clutch: DIY,
Hope you are having a great Christmas week. I hate that Christmas lasts only one day and have every intention of stretching it out. Of course, with New Year looming just on the horizon, we tend to take stock of out life and make plans for the next one.
Well, this year has been amazing and most challenging of my life. With many changes taking place, I'm not the same person that I was a year ago. I've grown and experienced some amazing things - motherhood and another change of address being some of the most obvious ones. But there were also things that humbled me as an individual and brought a lot of joy to my heart.
I'm looking forward to what the new year brings and hope you enjoy the life that God gives you today.
See you in 2014 gang!

The Mistakes We Make

I'm the type of person who has played it safe all my life. I haven't made any 'big', life-altering mistakes and stayed on the 'good girl'side. But there are plenty of times when I have made a mess.

The worst mistake that I made was in 10th grade. No really. I was taking my Russian language exam (should be easy right?) but was too distracted with church activities (ready: lazy) to write an essay on a topic of my choice. I went online and downloaded a good looking (too perfect) paper about the last Tsar in Russia and submitted it. So dumb! Did I really think I wouldn't get caught?
The thing is that I could write a stellar paper in Russian language without any problems.
But I was lazy and ignorant, thinking I was better then anyone else, that I wouldn't get caught.

Upon receiving the paper, the grading teacher, of course, knew I copied it off internet. She was really kind to give me another chance instead of reporting me for cheating. I was so embarrassed and felt HORRIBLE. Which I should.
I went home and wrote the paper (all by myself) without telling a soul about what happened and received 98% on the exam.
I told this story to only one person and kept this moment of shame to myself.

What's the lesson(s)?
First no matter what, do what's right.  And not just because you will get caught but because it is the right thing to do.
Second, learn from your mistakes. I learned that mercy trumps judgement; that giving people second ( and third) chances will humble them and teach them life's greatest lessons.
God gives us second (and third, fourth... and millionth) chance to change and we still mess up. Thank goodness for His mercy.
The mistakes we make help shape us into the people we are today.

Weekend Happenings

Welcome to Monday!
Hope you had a good relaxing weekend.
Mine was filled with birthday celebrations - a one-year-old party and my mom's birthday. It was lots of fun.
My sister and I threw my mom a small bday party yesterday night. Sunday afternoon we started getting some major rain and lighting. A lot of people lost their power and it was hot and humid outside.
Thank God we didn't because first of all, the party would've been ruined and then it A/C wouldn't work.
I'm so spoiled. I know.
All in all, it was a great weekend.
What did you do?
